THE HEART OF LUCKYNELLY

In 2012, after several years working in fashion, I made a decision:

Luxury must never come at the cost of a life.

The fashion world around me felt loud, trend-driven and – too often – cruel.

I knew I could not call something “beautiful” if it required suffering.

That was the moment LUCKYNELLY – BERLIN was born:
a house built on compassion, craftsmanship and responsibility.

The name comes from two souls who changed my life forever:
my dog Nelly and a rescued rabbit named Lucky.

They are the reason this brand exists.

LUCKYNELLY is not just a label.
It is a promise.

Christine Rochlitz, founder and creative director of LUCKYNELLY, with Lucky the rescue rabbit and Nelly the Bearded Collie – the inspiration behind the vegan luxury handbag brand from Berlin.

LUCKY & NELLY

Nelly, a gentle Bearded Collie, came into my life as a four-month-old puppy and quickly became
my constant companion – my comfort, my joy, my muse.

About a year later, I walked into a hardware store and saw a small, starving rabbit in a glass box
next to a guinea pig. There was a handwritten sign:

“Hello, I’m Lucky. Please take me with you quickly. I’m already six months old.”

He was no longer a “sellable baby”. I knew what that usually means.

I took him home.

When I opened the box in my apartment, something beautiful happened: Lucky ran straight to Nelly
and hid under her. She gently licked his ears. From that moment on, they were inseparable – pure
trust between two animals that were never meant to “belong together”.

That moment defined everything.

Kindness. Protection. Respect for life.

When I later searched for a name for my new brand, I kept saying “Lucky” and “Nelly”. They embodied everything
wanted this house to stand for: love for animals, tenderness, individuality.

That’s how LUCKYNELLY was born.

Lucky and Nelly are no longer with us – but they remain our true muses, our silent co-founders, and the
emotional core of everything we create.

OUR MISSION

We refuse mass production.

We refuse pain as a price for style.

Every piece we create is meant to honour life, not take it.

LUCKYNELLY is not just a brand.

It is a movement toward a future where no animal has to suffer for fashion.

OUR FEMALE FOUNDER

LUCKYNELLY – BERLIN is led by founder and head designer Christine Rochlitz (Dipl. Fashion Designer)
Obsessed with form, texture and color — and with the belief that fashion can unite art and ethics —
Christine chose not to join the traditional luxury system; she chose to challenge it.
Every collection is personally designed in Berlin. Every bag passes through our studio process and becomes
a unique work of art — not just an accessory.

When you choose LUCKYNELLY, you enter a direct dialogue with the designer.

INSPIRATION & MATERIALS

From the beginning, Christine refused to accept “leather” as the only language of luxury.

Instead, she began hunting – obsessively – for next-generation materials that were beautiful,

durable, tactile, sculptural… and kind. Over the years, LUCKYNELLY has worked with:

• cork that can be embossed like crocodile skin
• pineapple-based material
• cactus-based materials
• bacterial cellulose
• apple-based materials
• coconut-based bio-materials
• chocolate-based material
• olive-based material
• tea-based material

What started as experimentation became identity.

COCOA DRIP — NUTICO × LUCKYNELLY

After only two years of development, British VOGUE introduced Christine and LUCKYNELLY as one

of the new talents in fashion. Soon after, ELLE, Harper’s Bazaar and Cosmopolitan featured the work

in print – not just because it was vegan, but because it was unlike anything else.

“My goal is simple,” Christine says.

“Luxury should never hurt.

"Luxury should move you.”

For us, nature is not a trend.

It is the original designer.
