A visual archive documenting the sketches, prototypes, material research and craftsmanship behind LUCKYNELLY since 2012. Designed and developed in Berlin, unique pieces, prototypes and selected designs are handcrafted in the LUCKYNELLY atelier, while selected styles are produced in collaboration with specialized manufacturing partners.
01 — FROM SKETCH TO PATTERN
Every LUCKYNELLY design begins by hand. Ideas are translated into sketches, measurements and patterns before the first material is cut. Shape, proportion and construction are developed directly in the atelier.
02 — MATERIALS & COMPONENTS
Materials are explored not only for their appearance, but for structure, touch and possibility. Surfaces, linings, closures, zippers and custom hardware become part of the design language long before a bag is assembled.
03 — HANDCRAFTED DEVELOPMENT
Prototypes are cut, assembled, tested and refined by hand. Construction details are continuously adjusted until material, function and silhouette work together as one object.
04 — DETAILS THAT DEFINE THE OBJECT
The character of a LUCKYNELLY piece is often found in its smallest details — a closure, a custom label, an unexpected material combination or a specially developed component. Each element is considered as part of the complete object.
05 — AT THE SEWING MACHINE
Every piece takes shape through the process of making. Seams are tested, edges refined and constructions adjusted directly at the sewing machine — often through several stages before a prototype reaches its final form.
06 — MATERIAL EXPLORATION
New materials often become the starting point for new ideas. Their structure, flexibility, surface and behaviour are explored by hand, allowing the material itself to influence form, construction and design.
07 — PROTOTYPES & EXPERIMENTS
Not every idea begins as a finished design. Experimental pieces and prototypes are used to test proportions, constructions, materials and techniques — sometimes leading to a collection piece, sometimes remaining a unique part of the archive.
08 — HAND-FINISHED IN BERLIN
Cutting, assembling, refining and finishing by hand remain an essential part of the LUCKYNELLY atelier. Unique pieces, experimental works and prototypes carry the traces of this direct making process.
09 — EDGE FINISHING
The smallest details often require the most precision. Edges are carefully finished and painted by hand, layer by layer, creating a clean and refined surface. It is a quiet part of the making process — but one that defines the final character of each piece.
10 — THE ATELIER ARCHIVE
Since 2012, the LUCKYNELLY atelier has been a place of continuous experimentation — with materials, techniques, construction and form. This archive preserves fragments of that process: not only finished objects, but the work, research and decisions behind them.
